The Living Word Made Flesh: Healing and Transformation     (Gen 1:2 part 7)                                          August 30

The profound truth that "the Word became flesh and dwelt among us" (John 1:14) remains timeless and impactful. This enduring presence of the Word signifies its ability to manifest in tangible forms even today. It can take on physical reality to address any ailment, sickness, or hardship that afflicts us, offering healing and solutions.

Recalling the initial creative act, when God spoke the Word at the dawn of time, particularly referring to Genesis 1, we understand that this Word was none other than Jesus Christ, spoken by God the Father through the Holy Spirit. This very Word, Jesus, embarked on the creation of the universe. In this way, Jesus embodies the divine Word of God.

In the Gospel of John, chapter 1, we encounter the profound declaration that "in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" (John 1:1). This eternal Word existed in unity with God from the outset, participating in the act of creation.

"All things were made by him, and without him was not anything made that was made" (John 1:3). Hence, the Word of God possesses the incredible capacity to take on flesh and thus provide healing, solutions, and transformations in the face of challenges that beset us.

Engaging in this concept of the Word becoming flesh involves aligning ourselves with the principles of the Kingdom of God. The foundational step is establishing a profound relationship with the Triune God: Father God, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit. By inviting Jesus into our hearts, we gain access to the Father, as Jesus proclaimed himself the exclusive way to the Father. This initiates a journey of communion through prayer, meditation on the written Word of God, and proclamation of His truths.

Prayer serves as a conduit for worship and connection, enabling direct and intimate communion with God. Gratitude, expressed through thanksgiving, reinforces this connection. Despite God's invisibility, we can foster a tangible connection through these practices, drawing upon the divine elements provided to us through the Scriptures.

As we embrace prayer language and scriptural meditation, we parallel the process depicted in Genesis. The Holy Spirit hovers over the waters of our lives, waiting for the Word of God. As we engage in these practices, we replicate the divine pattern, setting the stage for transformation.

The Word, expressed through the Father, is brought to fruition by the Holy Spirit. This divine synergy creates order out of chaos, as exemplified in the creation narrative. Just as the angel conveyed the Word to Mary, leading to the incarnation of Jesus Christ, our engagement with the Word through prayer, meditation, and proclamation can lead to a tangible manifestation of God's power and order in our lives.

By adhering to this pattern established by God, we can harness its transformative potential. Chaos in the form of sickness, disease, poverty, or other challenges can be reshaped into a godly order. As we connect with the Word, it takes on flesh and actively influences our circumstances, demonstrating the enduring power of the Word Incarnate.
