The Word of God: Holding Everything Together (revisited)

   January 23

I recently looked into the verses of Revelation 19:13, where it states that the Word of God is the Lamb who was slain – none other than our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This revelation led me to contemplate a profound truth: the Word of God is the very force that binds the universe together, and it's not a mere concept or doctrine but a living, breathing person – a relationship.

In the beginning, the Word of God spoke the cosmos into existence, crafting the heavens and the earth with divine precision (Genesis 1:1-3). This Word, Jesus, is more than just words on a page; He is a tangible presence in our lives as Christians. He willingly came to Earth, sacrificed Himself for our salvation, and triumphantly rose again, allowing us to be in communion with Him (John 1:14, John 3:16).

Indeed, Jesus resides within us, and we abide in Him (John 15:4). This remarkable reality underscores the fact that the One who upholds the entire universe also resides within us. Consequently, we can accomplish all things through Christ, empowered by the anointing of the Holy Spirit (Philippians 4:13).

Moreover, we possess an Unction from the Holy One (1 John 2:20), which grants us insight and understanding beyond human comprehension. The Holy Spirit, Jesus, and the Father dwell within us, and we find ourselves in the comforting embrace of the Holy Trinity (1 Corinthians 6:19). This spiritual truth is awe-inspiring. It means that we are intertwined with everything in creation. Thus, when we act, we do so through Christ and the Holy Spirit, for they are the very essence of our being.

In light of this profound connection, we can move mountains and raise the dead, all because we humble ourselves in Him (Matthew 17:20). As we yield to His presence, transformation occurs, and the broken are made whole, the incapacitated are renewed, and lives are restored. Healing, too, becomes an extension of our divine partnership with Christ. As we encounter ailments or adversity, we have the authority to reject them, knowing that the One who holds the universe in place also has the power to release and destroy affliction, for it is His divine purpose (Matthew 10:8).

The Word of God, the force that sustains all creation, hinges on our faith, words, and ability to witness it manifest. It is a potent, life-changing reality that we must embrace and proclaim. As we contemplate this truth, let us extend our gratitude to the Father, acknowledging His power and greatness (Psalm 95:1-3). Everywhere we turn, His glory is present, and through our connection with Him, we can release it into our circumstances. However, our actions must align with God's plan, for everything ultimately bows before Him (Psalm 46:10).

Worship and adoration are reminiscent of the heavenly scene described in Revelation – the four living creatures continuously praising and worshiping God, prompting the twenty-four elders to cast their crowns before the Almighty (Revelation 4:8-11). This is a perpetual posture of reverence that we should strive to adopt in our lives – worship that transcends time and place. As we enter into this sacred realm, our lives are transformed, and the works of the devil are dismantled. Compassion and mercy flow through us, a testament to the divine connection we share with our Creator.

In closing, we acknowledge the Word of God, Jesus Christ, who holds everything together. His presence within us empowers us to achieve the extraordinary, to heal, and to confront adversity with unwavering faith. As we embrace this truth and engage in lifestyle of worship, we align ourselves with the divine plan, ushering in God's glory and bringing about positive change in our lives and the world around us.
