Entering God's Presence Through Worship
May 29
Worship is a profound way to enter into the presence of God. When you lift your hands and fill your mouth with thanksgiving, you are stepping into His courts with praise. This act of worship is a key to experiencing God's presence and power.
The Bible teaches us to "enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise" (Psalm 100:4). This means that as we approach God, our hearts should be filled with gratitude and our lips with praise. Jesus illustrated this in the Lord's Prayer, showing us how to approach God: "Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name" (Matthew 6:9).
Prayer is about coming to God, starting with Him, and ending with Him. In the Lord's Prayer, we begin by hallowing His name and acknowledging His kingdom and will. As we pray, "Give us this day our daily bread" (Matthew 6:11), we recognize that God provides for our daily needs, both physical and spiritual. Jesus, the Bread of Life, gives us His word daily, sustaining us.
Repentance is also a crucial part of prayer. We ask God to "forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors" (Matthew 6:12). This cleansing keeps our hearts pure and free from any hindrances to God's power flowing in our lives. By forgiving others, we maintain a clean heart, allowing God's protection, provision, and wisdom to manifest in our lives. "For as our soul prospers, we experience healing and a prosperous life" (3 John 1:2).
We also pray for deliverance: "Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil" (Matthew 6:13). This petition acknowledges God's sovereignty and power to protect us. At the end of our prayer, we return to praising and magnifying God: "For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever" (Matthew 6:13). This bookends our time with God, starting and ending with worship.
God is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. He holds everything together (Revelation 1:8, Hebrews 12:2). This understanding empowers us to speak life into every situation, whether sickness, disease, or any problem. We speak God's word into these situations, believing that His word, which holds all things together, will bring life and healing.
When facing sickness or disease, we start with God, recognizing that He created us and holds us together. We then speak God's word to the sickness, declaring life and healing. The word of God within us connects with the word of God holding everything together, creating a synchronicity that brings healing and transformation.
Praise and worship are vital in every situation. Begin and end your prayers with thanksgiving and praise. This aligns your heart with God's presence and power. Worship is a continuous act in heaven, where angels and saints constantly praise God. On earth, worship keeps us connected to God's presence, allowing us to live victoriously.
As you incorporate praise, worship, and prayer into your life, you will experience God's presence in a profound way. Start and end each day with worship, acknowledging God's greatness and thanking Him for His provision. This practice will deepen your relationship with God and empower you to face any situation with faith and confidence.
