Genesis 9: Superhero Pirate Noah Perspective

   November 27

Genesis 9:1-10 (Pirate Speak)

An' the Almighty blessed Noah an' his sons, an' said unto 'em, "Arr, be fruitful, an' multiply, an' replenish the seas, ye scurvy dogs."

"An' fear o' ye an' the dread o' ye shall be upon every beast o' the earth, an' upon every fowl o' the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, an' upon all the fishes o' the sea; into yer hand are they delivered."

"Every movin' thing that liveth shall be meat fer ye; even as the green herb have I given ye all things."

"But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat."

"An' surely yer blood o' yer lives will I require; at the hand o' every beast will I require it, an' at the hand o' man; at the hand o' every man's brother will I require the life o' man."

"Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: fer in the image o' God made He man."

"An' you, be ye fruitful, an' multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, an' multiply therein."

God spake to Noah, an' to his sons with him, sayin',

"An' I, behold, I establish me covenant with ye, an' with yer seed after ye;"

"An' with every livin' creature that is with ye, o' the fowl, o' the cattle, an' o' every beast o' the earth with ye; from all that go out o' the ark, to every beast o' the earth."

Genesis 9:11-20 (Pirate Speak)

“An' I be establishin' me covenant with ye: Never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters o' a great deluge; neither shall there ever be a flood to destroy the earth."

An' God said, "This be the sign o' the covenant which I make between me an' you an' every livin' creature with ye, fer perpetual generations:"

"I do set me rainbow in the cloud, an' it shall be fer a token o' a covenant 'twixt me an' the earth."

"An' it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud:"

"An' I will remember me covenant, which is between me an' you an' every livin' creature of all flesh; an' the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh."

"An' the rainbow shall be in the cloud; an' I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God an' every livin' creature of all flesh that is upon the earth."

An' God said unto Noah, "This be the token o' the covenant, which I have established 'twixt me an' all flesh that is upon the earth."

An' the sons o' Noah, that went forth o' the ark, were Shem, an' Ham, an' Japheth: an' Ham is the father o' Canaan.

These be the three sons o' Noah: an' of them was the whole earth overspread.

An' Noah began to be a husbandman, an' he planted a vineyard:

Genesis 9:21-29 (Pirate Speak)

“Noah, the husbandman, imbibed a bit too much o' his own grog, an' lay uncovered within his quarters."

"Ham, the father o' Canaan, saw his father's state and told his two brethren without."

"Shem an' Japheth took a garment, laid it upon both their shoulders, an' walked backward, an' covered the nakedness of their father; an' their faces were turned away, an' they saw not their father's shame."

"Noah awoke from his grog-induced slumber, an' knew what his younger son had done unto him."

An' he said, "Cursed be Canaan; a servant o' servants shall he be unto his brethren."

An' he said, "Blessed be the Lord God of Shem; an' Canaan shall be his servant."

"God shall enlarge Japheth, an' he shall dwell in the tents o' Shem; an' Canaan shall be his servant."

"An' Noah lived after the flood three hundred an' fifty years."

"So all the days of Noah were nine hundred an' fifty years: an' he died."
