From Darkness to Light: The Word's Transformative Journey
October 5
In the beginning, there was the Word, and this Word was not just with God but was God Himself (John 1:1). Today, Jesus continues to have a profound presence in our lives through His Word. He is the very essence of God's Word. Through our words, we have the privilege of inviting Jesus into our hearts, an act of faith that transcends the physical realm. Although we may not see His physical form, through faith in his word we receive him.
Acknowledging our sinful nature, which we inherit from Adam and Eve's original disobedience, we repent and invite the Lord into our hearts as our Savior. He cleanses us of our sins (1 John 1:9), replacing our old nature with a divine one. Jesus leads us back to our intended state, made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27), encouraging us to walk and think as He does. He desires all of us to become His children (John 1:12), granting this privilege to those who have asked him into their hearts.
Before accepting Jesus, we were children of darkness, aligned with the evil one (Ephesians 2:2). Therefore, Jesus had to transform our core beings in the spiritual realm (2 Corinthians 5:17). This transformation is mirrored in the Bible and conveyed by various spiritual leaders. As we meditate on the Word, pray, and declare it, we gain revelation and develop faith (Romans 10:17), growing in our prayer life and occasionally fasting (Matthew 6:16-18). The Word holds immense importance in our lives, as it reflects how we were created (Colossians 1:16). Jesus, the firstborn of sons and daughters (Colossians 1:15), offers us the opportunity to become like Him. Words create vivid mental images and shape our perception of the physical world, underscoring the necessity of meditating on the Word continuously.
Our minds must be renewed and transformed (Romans 12:2), focusing on good, perfect, and acceptable things (Philippians 4:8). Words possess a spiritual essence that connects us to the greater spiritual realm (Hebrews 4:12). Just as Jesus, the Word, became flesh (John 1:14), receiving the Word transforms and saves us (James 1:21), ultimately defining who we are. Our thoughts dictate the course of our lives. Maintaining righteous thoughts is crucial (Philippians 4:8). The written Word of God, the Bible, is a valuable resource for understanding how we should live. Jesus affirms that His words are spiritual (John 6:63) and serve as a gateway to the spiritual realm, declaring Himself the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6), the means through which we approach God the Father.
