The Importance of Seeing in the Kingdom of God
September 14
In the realm of the Kingdom of God, I've been pondering a crucial aspect: the art of positioning ourselves to receive its abundant blessings. One of the pivotal elements I find profoundly significant is the concept of "seeing." In the physical realm, it's often said that many require visual evidence to believe in something. In the spiritual realm, I believe this principle holds true. We are called to see into the spiritual domain, to see through the lens of God's Word (2 Corinthians 4:18). We seek healing, provision, guidance, miracles, signs, and wonders – things that remain hidden from physical eyes.
For those confined to the physical realm, such perceptions might seem foolish, but it's a critical concept outlined in the Bible for walking in the Spirit. We peer into the unseen world, utilizing the Word of God as our guiding light, our tool for seeing (Psalm 119:105). This is why meditation on God's Word is essential (Proverbs 4:20). Proverbs 4:20 advises us to "meditate on the word of God day and night, for it is healing to your flesh."
Seeing also involves using the mind's eye to observe the spirit realm. Meditating on the Word of God is one of the most effective methods to achieve this sight. Furthermore, we can ask the Holy Spirit to guide us in seeing into this realm. When we experience visions and dreams, aligning them with the Word of God assures us that they originate from Him, rather than being mere fabrications or whispered deceptions from the enemy or his allies (Joel 2:28-29; Acts 2:17-18).
The Word of God serves as our anchor, enabling us to scrutinize everything, distinguishing between the divine and the ungodly. Romans 12:2 emphasizes the renewal of our minds, aligning ourselves with God's perfect and acceptable will. By seeing into the spirit realm with the Word of God as our guide, I believe we will begin to manifest the Kingdom's benefits: healing, provision, wisdom, and other miraculous gifts bestowed upon us through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 6:33).
Jesus often used parables, word pictures, to help us comprehend the Kingdom of God (Matthew 13:34-35). He spoke about having eyes to see and ears to hear, emphasizing the importance of receptive ears for receiving these Kingdom principles. Faith comes through hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17). As we meditate on God's Word and speak it, it creates mental images, fosters belief, and aligns us with God's desires. This is where miracles, signs, wonders, healings, provision, translations, and transportations become a reality – the Kingdom's blessings freely given to us (Mark 11:23).
Seeing is a vital key. What we see and declare has a profound impact. Negative words yield negative outcomes, while affirming positive visions, meditating on them, and believing them unleashes the power of faith. Deuteronomy 30:19 reminds us that God presents us with choices between life and death. In Genesis 1, God placed the tree of life. It's crucial to fix our gaze on the tree of life (the Word of God - Jesus), rather than the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (worldly mindset) which brings death.
These profound concepts are made simple through the use of word pictures (parables). They allow us to grasp and apply these truths in our lives. So, today's meditation centers on the importance of seeing – perceiving the promises and benefits that God has graciously bestowed upon us in His Word – if only we have the eyes to see them!
