Word of God is Eternal whether I feel it or not
September 16
As I sit here, I don't necessarily feel spiritual. However, I am reminded that the Word of God remains unchanging, as it is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). The Word of God is constant, enduring through time. While everything else may pass away, the Word of God continues to live on (Matthew 24:35). Therefore, regardless of how I feel, I can always rely on the Word of God as my anchor.
It's important to recognize that the Word of God is not dependent on our feelings; rather, it's about our choices. It's about understanding that the Word of God is what holds everything together (Colossians 1:17). All things were created by the Word of God (John 1:3), and this truth is the foundation upon which my existence rests (Genesis 1:27). Reflecting on this, I find that it helps me regain perspective and overcome my emotions. I can choose to magnify Him in my thoughts and imagination (John 3:30). Regardless of my emotional state, I can focus on the Word of God.
This reflection fills me with joy, reminding me that Jesus Christ is the Word made flesh (John 1:14). The Word of God is presented to us through the good news shared by others (Romans 10:15). At its core, Jesus, the Word of God, was sent to us as a gift of love to reconcile us with God after our fall through Adam and Eve (Romans 5:8). When we took on the sin nature of Adam and Eve, Jesus came to rectify that and restore God's nature and Spirit to our lives (Romans 8:11).
I have accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior (John 1:12), granting me access to what was lost through sin, both inherited from Adam and Eve and through my own actions. I exchanged my sins and the Adamic nature for Jesus' sacrifice on the cross (2 Corinthians 5:21). After His crucifixion and descent into hell (Acts 2:24), Jesus rose victorious and led others to heaven with Him (Ephesians 4:8). This offer is extended to anyone who receives Jesus as their Savior and believes in His resurrection (John 14:6).
In my life, Jesus lives in my heart (Galatians 2:20), and one day, I will live with Him in a glorified body (1 Thessalonians 4:17). My soul, separated from the worldly plane I currently inhabit, bridges the gap between the spiritual and the physical (1 Thessalonians 5:23). My focus should remain on the spiritual rather than the carnal (Romans 8:5). I no longer desire to live as I did before receiving Jesus as my Lord and Savior.
The Bible, often referred to as the Logos Word, serves as my instruction book (2 Timothy 3:16-17). I seek guidance from the Holy Spirit as I read it (John 16:13). One day, I will leave behind this earthly body, my "earth suit," and be united with Him. My soul and spirit will dwell with Him in a spiritual realm, eventually in the new heaven and the new earth (Revelation 21:1).
So, despite not feeling particularly spiritual this day, I find solace in knowing that the Word of God remains a constant presence. Jesus Christ, the Word of God, resides in my heart, regardless of my emotional state. This unchanging truth allows me to redirect my focus towards worship, praise, and rejoicing in the awesomeness of His presence.
