Keep your focus on God’s Word (Jesus) & the mustard seed principle of faith August 15

I was thinking about the man and the father who was asking Jesus to heal his demon-possessed son (Mark 9:17-24). The son kept throwing himself into the fire while having an epileptic attack. Basically, the man asked Jesus if he could heal his son but he didn’t have total faith and said, "I believe you can help him but I also have some unbelief in the mix". That belief was all Jesus needed. So Jesus took the belief part of the man’s heart and with that, Jesus was able to heal his son (Mark 9:24). All Jesus needed was just a little faith. That's what God is looking for in us. Just a little belief to work with.

I am reminded about what occurred in Jesus’s home city of Capernaum, he was not able to do very many miracles due to their unbelief (Matthew 13:58). But there he did find a few who believed, and Jesus was able to help those people. Just a few with faith can get God to move.

Any way, the man's epileptic son was healed when Jesus saw the man’s belief.

Here are some more scriptures regarding this: When Peter walked on the water, Peter fell because he took his eyes off Jesus (Matthew 14:28-31). He fell into the water, but Jesus still saved him. Jesus said, "Oh you of little faith" (Matthew 14:31). So, even with little faith, Peter was able to walk on water, and I believe that little faith that Peter had also saved him from drowning.

Then there are the striped sticks that Jacob put in front of the goats to increase them (Genesis 30:41), and also Moses' staff with a snake on it, which he used to heal the Hebrew children from snake bites. As long as they kept their eyes on the pole with the snake, they wouldn't die (Numbers 21:4-9).

I believe that snake pole represents Jesus, and I believe that the Jacob’s striped reeds also represent the healing stripes of Jesus. It's all Jesus. As long as the goats and people kept their eyes on the reeds and poles they would be made whole. They were following instructions (word) from God. I think it was the the faith of the people and Jacob (not so much of the goats) on following the instruction received from God that them the recovery they needed.

Another way to say it is that those goats would not have increased and become whole if Jacob had not followed the word of the Lord to place the reeds before the goats, and the people that did not look upon the snake on Moses' staff would have died because they did not follow or believe the Word given to Moses from God. Peter would not have walked on water if he didn’t believe Jesus when Jesus instructed him to come, and the epileptic son would not have been healed without the father’s small belief that Jesus could help him.

So here's the thing: you just need to focus with a little faith on the Word of God to receive what you need or desire. If you need healing, look to Jesus as your healer. If you need finances, look to him as your provider. If you need direction, look to him as your guide. If you need protection, focus on Jesus as your protector.

The Bible says all you need is a little faith, faith the size of a mustard seed, in order to move a mountain into the sea (Matthew 17:20). You open your mouth with that little focused faith and you tell that mountain to move, and it will move.

So you need to believe in your heart by hearing and meditating on scripture along with your prayer language (I believe this is also a form of speaking), which will remove doubt and increase faith (Jude 20, Romans 10:17). Then after doing all that you speak to the problem, and it will eventually if not immediately be removed.

You're basically entering into God's territory (Luke 8:8). Here is where you intentionally move yourself into this focused attitude or state, and you stay there until you get what you are after (Proverbs 4:20-23, James 1:6, Hebrews 10:23). Now God has something to work with, even if it is just a little faith that has been mustered up to get on the road to total recovery and restoration of whatever you need or desire.
