Walking with Faith: Embracing God's Unchanging Promises August 17
Ever experience those days when the spiritual high seems out of reach? It's something I've been reflecting on lately. What's intriguing is that walking in the spirit isn't always tied to how intensely you feel it. At this juncture, I might not be riding the waves of profound spiritual sensations, but here's the crux of it: I'm absolutely convinced that the word of God is working diligently, irrespective of my ability to perceive it.
What's noteworthy is that God's word remains resolute amidst life's fluctuations. Consider this: The Bible underscores that Jesus Christ, the embodiment of God's Word, remains consistent across time—yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). So, it's not contingent on our fleeting emotions. The Word packs a substantial impact, and it's consistently on point.
So, even if I'm not experiencing an intense surge of spirituality at this moment, or if my happiness gauge isn't off the charts, it's perfectly okay. I've chosen to anchor myself securely in the bedrock of God's word. Take, for instance, when grappling with a persistent illness. The Bible asserts that through Christ's stripes, you are healed!" (Isaiah 53:5, 1 Peter 2:24). It's almost like a decision is at hand: I can either fixate on the ailment or delve into the assurances within God's word, affirming my healing. And there's more: The Bible directs us to opt for life over death (Deuteronomy 30:19). So, I'm all about embracing life.
Now, here's the intriguing part: I possess the autonomy to choose. I can either remain fixated on the realm of illness or lay hold of the promise of healing. Even when I'm not in the best state of mind, my confidence in the unshakable truth of God's word remains steadfast. Hence, I grasp onto that healing verse, holding onto it with resolve, even if it might not feel real right now. This, I believe, is putting faith into action.
And as for my overarching philosophy: I'm committed to aligning my life with the word of God. It's genuinely liberating. I peruse the pages of the Bible in search of answers—answers for my needs, aspirations, and dreams. It doesn't matter whether I'm contending with health challenges, financial uncertainties or whatever type of challenge. I turn to the Bible, unearth the guidance I need, and try to remain unwavering in that direction. I try to remain entrenched there, regardless of the circumstances, until I attain my sought-after resolution. It's akin to a treasure hunt, and I'm fully committed to finding that treasure.
So, that's my stance. My life's guiding principle: God's word illuminates my path. Throughout life's highs and lows, I try to stride forward, trusting those promises, and allowing them to illuminate my journey.
