The Replication of Christ in Us: Becoming Sons of God
June 15
When Jesus walked the earth, He was a man confined to a physical body, experiencing the limitations of humanity. In His earthly ministry, He was present in one place at a time, teaching, healing, and performing miracles. Yet, there is another dimension to His presence. As the Word of God, He holds all creation together (Colossians 1:17).
While on earth, Jesus operated within the confines of His human form. However, His death and resurrection marked a pivotal transformation. After His ascension, He sent the Holy Spirit to dwell within those who received Him as Lord and Savior. This act seeded the earth with His presence, extending His reach far beyond the limitations of a single human body. Now, millions upon millions of believers worldwide carry His presence within them.
We are the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19). Through us, Jesus is manifest in the flesh, replicating Himself in every believer. This divine replication has been occurring since His crucifixion and resurrection, and it continues to grow as more people receive Him. Understanding our identity as sons of God is crucial. Jesus is the firstborn among many brethren (Romans 8:29). As His followers, we are called to emulate His works: raising the dead, healing the sick, giving sight to the blind, and performing miracles. Most importantly, we are to share the gospel, enabling others to partake in His love and salvation.
Jesus' sacrifice was for everyone. He died for every person (John 3:16), and His love encompasses all humanity. Reflecting on this, it is awe-inspiring to consider that God the Father has replicated Jesus in all who receive Him. As we understand and embrace our identity in Christ, we are empowered to do as He did. We are His body on earth, each of us carrying a piece of His divine presence.
This profound truth calls us to action. As sons of God, we are not only heirs of His promises but also ambassadors of His kingdom. Our mission is to manifest His love, power, and grace in our everyday lives, bringing the reality of heaven to earth.
