Part 2: Jesus: Bridging the Gap Between Absolute and Transient
October 8
When Jesus stepped into our world, He did so by taking on the form of a human being. He embraced the limitations of the physical realm, becoming one of us. Yet, in His earthly ministry, He demonstrated His power to transform the very fabric of our transient reality. He healed the sick, gave sight to the blind, and even raised the dead.
He defied the laws of nature, ushering in glimpses of heaven to Earth. This raises an intriguing question: How can we tap into this transformative power in our own lives? Jesus effectively brought the heavenly into the earthly, representing the absolute where everything functions flawlessly. It suggests that something significant changed in the space-time continuum of our universe, pointing us back to how everything was originally designed to function.
From a biblical perspective, this transformational moment can be traced back to the story of Adam and Eve. God had given them the freedom to enjoy all the fruits of the Garden of Eden, except for the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Yet, when they disobeyed God's command and partook of the forbidden fruit, everything changed. This disobedience created a ripple effect, plunging humanity into a deathly spiral and separating us from God's intended design. It severed our connection to heaven and the absolute Word of God.
It was an act of defiance that altered the course of human history. However, even in the face of this disobedience, God's grace and mercy prevailed. He allowed the Word of God to continue holding the universe together, preventing it from descending into chaos and nothingness. Scripture hints at a future event where the world as we know it will be consumed by fire, and God will establish a new heaven and a new earth—a realm free from the transient changes and limitations that characterize our current existence (2 Peter 3:10-13).
