A Quiet Moment with God                                             September 3

I love to contemplate the Lord, even when there's seemingly nothing eventful unfolding. In those serene moments, it's as if the day has settled into a state of tranquility. The routine of watching some television, taking my dog for a walk, venturing outside to bask in the warmth of the sun—all contribute to the calm. The days are gradually cooling as the seasons shift (Ecclesiastes 3:1). Today, I dedicated some time to homework for a class I'm currently enrolled in. Now, I find myself here, with the television turned off and the sun descending. The world outside has hushed, and everything is steeped in quietness.

Yet, in this stillness, I am profoundly aware of God's presence. His divine essence permeates this serene atmosphere, creating a wondrous sensation. I'm simply relishing the experience of being in His midst, feeling His gentle touch (Psalm 46:10). God is not distant or elusive; He is here with me. The awareness of His presence fills me with a sense of wonder and contentment. I'm not battling depression or boredom; there's no emotional turmoil or loneliness. Instead, I'm savoring this moment, seated in a recliner with a single incandescent lamp casting a warm glow. If I were to switch it off, darkness would envelop me. Although the sun is setting, the room retains a twilight-like ambiance.

Nevertheless, the presence of God envelops me, and I cherish it like a precious gift. It feels as if I'm basking in His presence, absorbing His love and grace. I perceives the quietude that surrounds me, and it is truly remarkable (Matthew 28:20). I'm not lost in despair; rather, I'm relishing the serenity. In this tranquil, uneventful moment, God's importance becomes unmistakable. There is a profound significance here, something exceptionally remarkable (Isaiah 41:10). It fills me with awe and gratitude that God can be encountered anytime, anywhere, regardless of circumstances. The ability to pause and enjoy His presence imparts meaning to life. I'm deeply thankful for the relationship I share with Him, and I'm in awe that this gift is available to all who seek it (Jeremiah 29:13).

God's love is boundless. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to live among us for 33 years, demonstrating how to live, healing, providing, performing miracles, signs, and wonders (John 3:16). He walked on water, raised the dead, and gave hope to the hopeless, a gift that continues to this day. Yet, His ultimate sacrifice on the cross, as the only perfect man to tread this earth, ensures that we can also experience God's life within us when we accept Him as Lord and Savior (Romans 5:8). On the third day after His crucifixion, He was powerfully resurrected by the Holy Spirit, and today, He sits in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6). He sent His Holy Spirit to us, and we can invite God into our hearts through Jesus Christ (Romans 10:9). Once we do, our spiritual essence ascends to the heavenly realm with Him, granting us the same authority He possessed to heal, perform miracles, and share blessings (Luke 10:19).

We are made in God's image, and just as Jesus did, we can present Him to others so that they too may invite Him into their lives (Matthew 28:19-20). As we journey beyond this earthly realm, we do so with Him, moving toward greater things. He is here with us now, for He promised never to leave or forsake us. He remains constant—yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). I'm no longer an orphan; I have become a child of God through my acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. This incredible transformation is available to all who seek it (John 1:12). Thank you, Father, for this profound realization during this seemingly mundane, quiet time. Nothing earth-shattering is occurring, no dramatic events unfold. It's just a peaceful moment with You, the result of inviting You into my life.
