Faith, Fire, and Prayer: Unveiling God’s Transformative Process for our Life September 4
Here is an intriguing scripture that I recently came across in Psalms 39:3: "My heart grew hot within me, and as I meditated, the fire burned; then I spoke with my tongue." This scripture has led me to focus on reading the Bible, contemplating the Word of God, engaging in prayer, and speaking the word aloud. It reminds me of the image in Genesis 1:2, where the Holy Spirit is depicted as stirring or hovering above the waters. This indicates a form of meditation and movement to me. Furthermore, in Genesis 1:3, God the Father speaks, "Let there be light," which is the Word of God, as affirmed in John 1:1-5, where Jesus is identified as the Word of God. This reveals the triune God, the Holy Spirit, God the Father, and God the Son, participating in the act of creation through what Psalm 39:3 indicated.
In Psalm 39:3, we see the stirring mentioned as "My heart grew hot within me" during meditation. This relates to Jude 20, which emphasizes building up one's faith through a prayer language. Additionally, Romans 10:17 highlights the role of hearing the Word of God in building faith. Therefore, as we listen to the Word of God and pray in our prayer language, our faith is strengthened, leading to a stirring in our hearts. This stirring eventually generates a desire to speak the Word, akin to God's act in Genesis 1:3, "Let there be light." We are created in the image of God, enabling us to follow suit. We stir the spirit in our hearts through meditation on the Word and praying in tongues. This stirring signifies a realization that what we are meditating on aligns with God's will, prompting us to speak it out.
This concept can be applied to various situations, such as sickness or disease. By meditating on the Word, we find verses like "By his stripes, we are healed." God's Word is described as healing our sickness and disease. Proverbs 4:20 also mentions that meditating on the Word brings healing to our flesh, providing evidence of God's will for us. Hebrews 4:2 serves as a reminder that the Hebrew children, despite having the Word of God, couldn't enter the promised land due to their not mixing the Word of God with faith. Thus, it is essential to combine the Word of God with our prayer language to cultivate faith. As faith develops, there comes a point when the Word is ready to be spoken, leading to the manifestation of our desired outcomes, such as healing, in the name of Jesus.
In conclusion, the Bible is our instruction book for life, offering guidance on what we can believe will come to pass. It is not a work of fiction but a source of truth. Just as God's actions are recorded in the Bible, similar experiences can also happen to us when we align our faith through meditation of His Word and our prayer language to foster a burning within our hearts, and when we are ready we speak the Word out believing it will accomplish the desire we are after: healing, provision, guidance, etc.
