Finding Peace and Connection with God
September 26
I quiet my soul, turning off the TV and silencing all the noise around me. I position myself to listen for the still, small voice of God. In this moment, I recognize His presence (1 Kings 19:12). The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, permeates my soul and makes me whole (Philippians 4:7). It reassures me that all is well because God is alive.
I reflect on the resurrection of Jesus (Matthew 28:6) and His gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38), along with His angels, flames of fire, and ministering spirits (Hebrews 1:7). I am grateful for being baptized with the Holy Spirit and fire, Lord (Matthew 3:11). This peace is palpable, and I can sense it – the peace that surpasses all understanding, the peace that speaks to my soul, urging me to be still and listen for the gentle breeze of the Holy Spirit (John 14:26). For He provides guidance and instruction; He leads and directs my path (Proverbs 3:5-6). My trust is wholeheartedly in the Lord, and I do not rely on my understanding. I acknowledge Him in all my ways, knowing that He will guide me.
I praise and worship God for the comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3-4), regeneration (Titus 3:5), healing (James 5:15), wisdom (James 1:5), knowledge (Proverbs 2:6), and understanding (Proverbs 3:13) He brings into my life. He is the giver of all good things (James 1:17), and His promises are always "yes" and "amen" (2 Corinthians 1:20). He never leaves or forsakes me (Hebrews 13:5), sealing His presence with the Holy Spirit residing in me (Ephesians 1:13). I am connected to the Most High, and my soul finds rest in His presence. I meditate on Your word day and night, O Lord, and it brings healing to my flesh (Psalm 119:105, Psalm 119:130). Your word is a guiding light to my path. Thank You, Lord.
I am thankful for the gift of a prayer language (1 Corinthians 14:2), for it is a source of rest. As Jesus invites those who labor to come to Him for rest (Matthew 11:28), I believe that rest is found in the Holy Spirit, who blesses me with this unknown language. It is the same rest referred to in Isaiah when speaking of the unknown tongue (Isaiah 28:11-12). This rest brings peace, and it is available to anyone who seeks it. Therefore, I quiet myself, allowing the Holy Spirit to flow freely in my life, bringing me closer to God and filling me with His everlasting peace.
