We can have Dominion on the Earth 🌎 because of our position in Heaven
September 27
I believe that one of the reasons we need to envision heaven is because we are already there through Christ, not just in our minds or imagination, but in a spiritual sense. This belief finds support in Ephesians 2:6, where it states that we are seated in heavenly places with Christ Jesus. It involves realizing the eternal significance of what Jesus achieved through His death and resurrection, granting us a place in heaven—an eternal realm. Heaven itself is an eternal place, whereas our earthly existence is temporal.
Consequently, a spiritual battle can occur in our minds when we remain focused on the physical plane, allowing the devil to gain an advantage. However, by transitioning to the eternal plane and recognizing our identity as more than conquerors (Romans 8:37), we can tap into the power of Christ, who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13). We are kings and priests in the heavenly realm (Revelation 1:6). This heavenly perspective is reflected in the Lord's Prayer, where we petition, "Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven" (Matthew 6:9-10). We aim to bring the realities of heaven to Earth.
To effectively combat spiritual adversaries like Leviathan, we must enter the courtrooms of heaven, where Jesus remains the same throughout eternity (Hebrews 13:8). This position ensures victory, as opposed to struggling with battles on Earth. Currently, the devil holds dominion as the prince of the power of the air (Ephesians 2:2), necessitating our escape from this temporal realm. As beings with spiritual authority, we assume a position in the spirit realm to administer justice from heaven, where God the Father reigns supreme and Jesus Christ advocates for us, ultimately defeating the works of the devil (1 John 3:8). These revelations are found in the Scriptures through the guidance of the Holy Spirit (John 14:26), obtained through teaching, reading the Word of God, and meditation.
Through connecting these spiritual truths, we learn to wield the sword of the spirit effectively (Ephesians 6:17) and establish the kingdom of God in the physical realm. This knowledge dispels fear, leaving us unshaken (2 Timothy 1:7). Operating in faith (Hebrews 11:6), we firmly believe in the authority of the Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16). By positioning ourselves in the heavenly courts, we allow God's Word to manifest its power, crushing the serpent's head (Genesis 3:15) and closing any openings that the devil once exploited. We no longer share common ground with the enemy but align ourselves with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. In this spiritual realm, we can handle serpents (devils), trample them (Luke 10:19), and cast them away permanently.
By operating in the spirit realm and wielding our authority on the temporal plane, we fulfill God's will within His eternal purpose (Ephesians 1:11). This understanding equips us to stand firm, unyielding to fear (Isaiah 41:10), and unwavering in faith (Hebrews 10:23). We trust in the final authority of the Word of God, enabling us to operate confidently and effectively in the heavenly courts. Through faith and the Word, we eradicate any legal foothold the devil may have had in our lives, ensuring that we are covered by the blood of Jesus (Revelation 12:11) and His Word, safeguarding us from further eternal harm.
