I have been memorizing Hebrews 11, the faith chapter, and I want to share some thoughts. When we pause and reflect, we can see that faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). The elders obtained a good report through faith. Through faith, we understand that God created the world by His word, bringing into existence things that were not visible (Hebrews 11:3).
When we frame our world with the word of God, we start to limit and shape our reality according to what God says. For example, we believe in healing because God's word declares it, "By His stripes, I am healed'”(Isaiah 53:5). By adding substance through faith, we hold onto this promise and focus on the result we desire.
Take the story of Peter walking on water with Jesus (Matthew 14:29-30). As long as Peter maintained his focus on Jesus and the word, "Come," he was fine. But when he started looking at the circumstances around him, fear crept in, and he began to sink. Faith requires belief, even if it's as small as a mustard seed. It's enough to move mountains, as Jesus mentioned (Matthew 17:20).
Jeremiah 1:12 reminds us that God watches over His word to perform it. When we meditate on God's promises and believe in them, we can confidently claim the manifestation of those promises. So, I call on healing for my body wherever I may need it because God said so, and I trust that His word will come to pass.
By framing our words with God's word and meditating on His promises, we can add substance to our faith. This process aligns our desires with God's will and helps us keep our eyes fixed on Him. Even when trials come our way, we can count it all joy because faith produces endurance (James 1:2-3).
God's word never returns void (Isaiah 55:11). It works together with faith to manifest in our lives, like a well-designed system. We are created in His image, and we can embrace the amazing technology of faith and belief in Him. We can expect to receive through faith all promises of God.
