The Power of Faith and Framing Your World with the Word of God
September 11
I've been meditating on Hebrews 11, known as the faith chapter (Hebrews 11), and I want to share my thoughts on Hebrews 11:1. It says, "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1). This verse reminds us that through faith, the elders obtained a good report (Hebrews 11:2). We also understand that the world was framed by the word of God (Hebrews 11:3), where the seen was created by the unseen.
When we examine this closely, we find that we have the ability to frame our world using the Word of God. For example, when the Word declares, "By His stripes, I am healed," (Isaiah 53:5, 1 Peter 2:24) we can frame our circumstances with this truth. If we're experiencing physical pain, we frame a picture of healing in our minds, and through faith, we give substance to this declaration.
We believe that we are healed according to His Word, and we hold fast to this belief. It's crucial to keep our focus on the Word and our faith unwavering, just as Peter did when he walked on water towards Jesus (Matthew 14:29-30). As long as Peter looked at Jesus, the Word incarnate, he was fine. However, when he shifted his focus to the surrounding circumstances, fear and doubt crept in, causing him to falter. Peter had initially entered into the framework of faith but failed to fill it with substance and maintain his belief. Fortunately, Jesus saved him because he still possessed some faith.
This highlights the importance of even a small amount of faith, as Jesus mentioned elsewhere: "If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move" (Matthew 17:20). Without any faith at all, one may resemble the children of God who had the Word but lacked faith, preventing them from entering the promised land (Hebrews 3:19).So, I declare healing for my back, in alignment with Jesus's words, and I find assurance in Jeremiah 1:12, where the Lord says He watches over His Word to perform it. Just as God asked Jeremiah, "What do you see?" and Jeremiah saw an almond branch (Jeremiah 1:11-12), we should see the manifestation of God's promises because He watches over His Word to fulfill it.
I thank God for His goodness, faithfulness, and loving kindness (Psalm 136:26). I thank Him for His Word, which empowers us to frame our world through our words aligned with His Word. Our meditation and focus on the Word, along with our unwavering belief, are essential. As James 1:2-3 reminds us, we should count it all joy when we face trials, for faith produces steadfastness, allowing us to hold on until the manifestation appears. This is an incredible system and technology, rooted in God's design, which we can understand and utilize. We possess a God-kind of faith because we are made in His image (Genesis 1:27). It's a powerful way to shape our world and experience His promises.
