Discovering More “Easter Eggs” Hidden in the Truths of Scripture

                September 21

The scripture I've chosen to back up my Easter egg reference is found in Luke 11:11 and 12. It reads: "Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion?" (Luke 11:11-12)

In particular, I'm focusing on the 12th verse of chapter 11, which asks whether a father would give his child a scorpion when they ask for an egg. In a similar vein, I'm seeking something special, an Easter egg of sorts, from our Heavenly Father—something hidden and waiting to be discovered. Luke 11:9 offers a key to this search, stating: "And I say unto you, ask and it shall be given you, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be open unto you." (Luke 11:9) The message here is clear: persist in your asking, seeking, and knocking, and you'll receive what you're after. Don't give up.

Another scripture that has captured my attention during my Bible readings is Matthew 6:33: "But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you." (Matthew 6:33) In the context of this verse, Jesus urges us not to worry about basic necessities like food, clothing, and shelter. He points out that God provides for the birds and the flowers, and we, as His beloved children, are even more valued. Therefore, there's no need for anxiety about these needs. Instead, we are to prioritize seeking God's kingdom and His righteousness.

To seek the kingdom, we align our ways with God's through His Word, prayer, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It's important to remember that the Bible teaches that we are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Scripture also teaches us principles, such as sowing and reaping. We can give generously, as this scripture states "give and it shall be given unto you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, men shall pour upon your bosom." (Luke 6:38)

Regarding tithing, Malachi 3 instructs us to give a tenth of our first fruits, which in modern times corresponds to our income. This practice is not only a means of provision but also a safeguard against the enemy taking away what is rightfully ours. These teachings are Easter eggs related to provision, revealing the kingdom's way of meeting our needs. Another Easter egg relates to healing, found in scriptures like "by his stripes, you are healed." Meditating on God's Word day and night, as advised in Proverbs 4:20, can bring healing to our bodies when we declare and believe God's promises.

All of this ties back to seeking God's kingdom and His righteousness, ensuring that all our needs are met. The Bible serves as our instruction book, guiding us how to live, with the core being to receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior. This Easter egg of revelation is just one among many, with Matthew 6:33 serving as the focus in this instance. I'll continue to share other hidden treasures I uncover in my readings.
